Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Two workers died of electrocution after an iron pole they were erecting in an under-construction building came into contact with a high-voltage cable.
The incident took place in Balwa village of Shamli district on Monday.
According to locals, a huge explosion occurred when the pole came in contact with a high voltage power line. Both the laborers - Mohd Iqbal (42) and Nadeem Ahmad (26) - fell unconscious and were rushed to the Community Health Center by the villagers, but doctors declared them brought dead.
SHO Nem Chand said, “Based on preliminary investigation, the accident was caused due to negligence. We sent the bodies for autopsy. No complaint has yet been filed in this matter."
